How it works
The crop box is drawn over a scaled-down preview, but every coordinate is converted back to the original image’s pixels. The download is cut from the full-resolution image, so nothing is lost to the preview size.
The keyboard works too: with the crop box focused, arrow keys move it by one pixel and Shift with an arrow key moves it by ten.
Useful for
- Square profile photos and logos
- Cropping a screenshot to the part that matters
- Getting a 16:9 thumbnail or a 4:5 Instagram portrait
- Removing distracting edges from a product photo
Limitations
- Cropping keeps original pixels; if you also need a specific pixel size, crop first and then use the image resizer.
- Rotation is not available here; use the rotator first if the image is crooked.
