Optional Advanced audit with Google Search Console

Connect Search Console for actual search-performance data and deeper recommendations. With your permission, SBGeeks reads (and never changes):

  • clicks, impressions, click-through rate and average position
  • the queries and pages people find you with, by device and country
  • Google’s indexing status for a few important URLs

You sign in on Google’s own page; we never see or store your Google password. We ask for read-only access only, keep the data private to you (shared report links leave it out unless you choose otherwise), and delete it after 7 days. You can disconnect at any time.

This audit checks a website. To check a Google Business Profile (your Google Maps listing), use the free GBP Audit.

We only read public pages and respect robots.txt. Full reports are deleted after 7 days. Privacy policy

What the audit checks

Technical SEO (25%)

HTTPS and redirects, robots.txt, XML sitemaps, status codes, redirect chains and loops, mobile viewport, mixed content, hreflang and URL hygiene.

On-page SEO (20%)

Titles, meta descriptions, headings, language and social sharing tags, judged on clarity and duplication rather than rigid character counts.

Content (15%)

Thin pages, exact and near-duplicate content (using text fingerprints), template-heavy pages, and whether visitors can find who you are and how to contact you.

Performance (15%)

Server response time, compression, page weight, image sizes and formats, layout-shift risks and render-blocking files, plus Google PageSpeed when available.

Indexability (10%)

noindex, X-Robots-Tag, canonical tags, robots.txt and sitemap conflicts, read together so intentional choices are not treated as errors.

Links, structured data and AI search (15%)

Broken and redirected links, orphan pages, link depth; JSON-LD validity and consistency; and how clearly the site states what it offers, where and for whom.

Security headers, accessibility and local SEO signals are reported too, but do not affect the SEO score.

Standard audit or advanced audit?

The standard audit works on any public website and needs nothing from you but the address. It shows how the site is built and what search engines will find when they crawl it.

The advanced audit adds your own Google Search Console data. That turns general findings into priorities: which pages already earn impressions but have technical problems, which queries are close to the top results, which get seen but rarely clicked, and which pages Google shows that your internal links barely support.

Throughout the report, actual data (what Search Console recorded) is labelled separately from SBGeeks analysis (our interpretation), and every finding carries a confidence level: confirmed, likely or potential.

How the score works

Each category starts at 100. A finding subtracts points by severity (critical 25, high 12, medium 6, low 2), scaled by confidence and by how many pages it affects. The SEO Health Score is the weighted average shown in the list above. The AI Search Readiness score is our own diagnostic: it is not a Google metric and cannot guarantee appearing in AI Overviews or any AI assistant.

Questions

Is the SEO audit really free?
Yes. The audit is free. It checks up to 100 pages of one website and shows your score straight away; enter your name and email to unlock the full report and downloads, and we create a free SBGeeks account so you can see your reports any time. Connecting Search Console is also free and optional.
What does connecting Google Search Console add?
Your real clicks, impressions, click-through rate and average positions for the last 90 days, your top queries and pages, queries close to the top results, and a comparison of pages Google shows against what the crawl found. We request read-only access only.
Does the audit change anything on my website?
No. It only reads public pages, like a visitor or search engine would. It identifies itself as SBGeeksSEOAuditBot/1.0 and respects your robots.txt.
Why can my score differ from other SEO tools?
Every tool weighs issues differently. Ours is explained in full below: each finding has a severity and a confidence level, and the report shows exactly how many points each one cost. No score from any tool, including ours, guarantees rankings.
Does it run JavaScript?
No. It analyses the HTML your server returns, which is what search engines receive first. If important content only appears after JavaScript runs, the report flags it; Google’s URL Inspection tool can show the rendered result.
How long is my report kept?
The full report, crawl data and Search Console data are deleted automatically after 7 days, or after 90 days for reports saved to your SBGeeks account. We keep a short record of each audit for our records: the website, the date, its scores and issue counts, and your email address if you ask us to email the report. Search Console data is never kept in that record, and you can ask us to delete it at any time. Disconnecting Search Console deletes the access token immediately.
