google 5. Google Sign-In & Third-Party Authentication
We offer "Sign in with Google" as a convenient way to create or access your SBGeeks account. Here is exactly what happens when you use this option:
- check_circleWhat we receive from Google: Your full name, email address, and Google profile picture. We do not receive your Google password, contacts, Gmail messages, Google Drive files, or any other Google account data.
- check_circleWhat we store: We store your name, email address, profile picture URL, and a Google user ID (a unique number that identifies your Google account) in our database.
- check_circleHow it is used: This data is used solely to create and authenticate your SBGeeks account. It is not used for advertising or shared with any other third party.
- check_circleExisting account linking: If you already have a SBGeeks account with the same email address, signing in with Google will link to that existing account automatically.
- check_circleRevoking access: You can revoke SBGeeks' access to your Google account at any time by visiting myaccount.google.com/permissions. Revoking access does not delete your SBGeeks account.
Google's handling of your data during authentication is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review it.
cookie 6. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
We use cookies to maintain your login session and remember your preferences. When you sign in (including via Google), a secure session cookie is stored in your browser to keep you logged in. You can set your browser to refuse all or some cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you disable or refuse cookies, you will not be able to stay logged in. We also use Google Analytics to understand site usage patterns. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Our website can be installed as an app. To understand how the installable app is used, we record when it is offered, installed, opened and, where the browser can tell us, removed, together with the pages viewed inside the app. These records are linked to a random identifier stored in your browser, not to your name. If you are signed in to an account, they are also linked to that account. We store a shortened, scrambled form of your IP address to count unique devices, not the address itself. Clearing your browser's site data removes the identifier.
To know which pages and channels bring us enquiries, your browser keeps a small record of the first page you visited on our site, the website or campaign that sent you there (the referring site's address without its query string, and any utm tags or ad click type in the link), and the pages you view during your visit. This record stays in your browser and is sent to us only when you submit one of our forms (contact, audit request, plan quote, newsletter, free audit tools or account sign-up), together with the form. We use it only to understand where our enquiries come from. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.
Our forms are protected against automated spam. Each form includes hidden checks (a field people never see, a timer signed by our server and a value set by the page's script), and we check messages for patterns typical of spam. If our site is set up to use it, Cloudflare Turnstile may also check that the form is being filled in by a person; Cloudflare processes technical information about your browser and device to do this. Submissions that fail these checks are not delivered as enquiries and are kept for up to 90 days so we can review them. We never store passwords from these checks.
Our free image tools at sbgeeks.com/tools process your files inside your own browser. The images, text and files you use with them are not uploaded to our servers or stored by us. Google Analytics and our own usage log record which tool was used and, for example, that a job finished or a file was downloaded, with a file count and output type, but never file names or file contents. The usage log is linked to a random identifier stored in your browser (and to your account if you are signed in) and a shortened, scrambled form of your IP address, not the address itself. The image to text (OCR) tool downloads its open-source recognition engine and language files from the jsDelivr content delivery network the first time you use it; your images are still processed on your device.
Our free website SEO audit reads the public pages of the website you enter from our server, following that site's robots.txt. The full report, crawl data and any Google Search Console data are deleted automatically after 7 days. We keep a short record of each audit: the website address, the date, the scores and issue counts, the country your request came from (as reported by our network provider), a scrambled form of your IP address and, when you unlock the full report, your name and email address. Unlocking the report also creates a free SBGeeks account for that email address (or uses your existing one) so you can see your reports after signing in; we email you a temporary password, which you must change the first time you sign in. Reports saved to an account are kept for 90 days, and you can ask us to delete your account at any time. If you connect Search Console, we request read-only access, store the access token encrypted and delete it when you disconnect; Search Console data is never kept in the audit record. We do not add you to a mailing list. To have an audit record deleted, contact us.
lock 7. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Passwords are stored using industry-standard one-way hashing (bcrypt). Accounts created via Google Sign-In have no password stored in our system — authentication is handled securely by Google. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
verified_user 8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

- check_circleCorrection: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- check_circleDeletion: Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal obligations. For Google-linked accounts, we will also remove your stored Google ID and profile picture.
